Marblewood Straight Razor
Carbon steel straight razor with maple wood handle
Our straight razor with a carbon steel blade and lavish marblewood handle is known for its sharpness and durability. The distance from the spine of the blade to the edge of the razor measures 6/8”. This razor has a hollow ground to give the blade some flexibility, which will leave you with a closer shave. The blade of this razor has a gold-etched lion and the back of the blade is gold-plated. Sharpened and honed in Germany, the razor comes ready to use in a velvet-lined sliding gift box.
Our straight razors are handcrafted in Solingen, Germany. The blades are forged from a piece of carbon steel, which is then hardened by heat treatment so the steel will hold its edge. The blade goes through a number of different machines and is ground by hand. After that, the master craftsman will add sides to the blade and strop the razor to put on an extremely sharp edge. Your razor is now "shave ready.”
It’s very important that you completely dry the blade after shaving. Leftover water on carbon steel can leave stains and make the blade prone to rust. A light stropping on a proper leather strop after drying the blade will maintain your razor’s sharpness.
